JV Blue Takes Down Joliet Last Night
JOLIET, IL – In an exhilarating matchup at Inwood Ice Arena, Lincoln-Way JV Blue overcame a slow start to secure a 3-2 victory against the Joliet Jaguars last night.
The first period saw both teams play a tightly contested game, resulting in a scoreless tie as each side struggled to find their rhythm. However, the second period shifted the momentum when the Jaguars capitalized on their chances, netting two goals and taking a commanding 2-0 lead.
Facing a deficit, Lincoln-Way JV Blue responded in the third period. At 14:44, Jimmy Maurer ignited the comeback with an unassisted goal, bringing his team within one. Just over three minutes later, the pressure mounted as Danny Peterson scored, assisted by Jack Antonsen and Connor Kolosh, leveling the game at 2-2.
With time winding down, Maurer delivered the decisive blow, netting his second goal of the night with just over two minutes remaining, securing the game-winning goal and sealing a thrilling comeback for Lincoln-Way.
Jacob Anders showcased his skills in net for Lincoln-Way, stopping 15 of the 17 shots he faced, contributing significantly to the team's victory.
