JV2 Clinches Nail-Biter Victory Over Lake Forest

In an electrifying showdown, #4 Lincoln-Way JV2 triumphed over #8 Lake Forest with a dramatic 3-2 victory in a closely contested match on Saturday night. 

Lincoln-Way set the tone early in the first period, taking a 1-0 lead thanks to a well-executed goal by Mark Weiss, assisted by Ben Cygan. The duo proved to be a formidable force, collaborating once again in the second period to extend their lead to 2-0, putting Lake Forest on the defensive.

However, Lake Forest demonstrated their resilience in the third period, staging an impressive comeback by scoring twice in quick succession, just 1:08 apart. The score was knotted at 2-2, setting the stage for a thrilling finish.

With only 16 seconds left on the clock, the intensity reached its peak. Nate Macri made a key play by finding Jacob Nelson in front of the net, who deftly tipped the puck past the Lake Forest goalie for the decisive game-winning goal.

In the net, Alex Welsh was a standout performer for Lincoln-Way, making an impressive 24 saves and keeping his team in the hunt throughout the competition.
