LW JV2 Shines in 8-4 Victory Over Lake Forest

In an electrifying matchup earlier this evening, LW JV2 showcased their offensive prowess, defeating Lake Forest with a decisive 8-4 victory.

The action began with LW getting on the board first, as Brandon Plahm netted an unassisted goal at 10:08 in the first period. Lake Forest fought back, leveling the score with their first goal with just a minute and a half remaining in the opening frame. However, LW quickly regained the lead, as Nate Macri found the back of the net just 45 seconds later, assisted by Emmet Brkovic.

The second period was a goal-scoring frenzy for LW as they dominated the ice, registering four straight goals. Plahm continued to shine, scoring his second of the night with the help of teammates Mark Weiss and Ben Ersfeldt. Cole Wojak then joined the scoring with an assist from Ben Irwin and Cole Swartzbacker. Plahm completed his hat trick shortly after, thanks to assists from Ben Cygan and Alex Demma. Macri capped off the period with his second goal, finding the net once again, assisted by Emmet Brkovic and Maverick Enright. Lake Forest managed a last-minute surge, scoring two goals within the final two minutes, but LW still headed into the third period with a solid 6-3 lead.

The third period commenced with a quick response from Lake Forest, narrowing the score to 6-4 early on. Yet, LW's Mark Weiss quickly answered back with an unassisted goal three minutes later, restoring the three-goal cushion. The final nail in Lake Forest's coffin came from Macri, who executed a stunning unassisted breakaway goal, marking the team's second hat trick of the night.  It was a great all around effort for LW as 12 different players scored a point or more!
