SENIOR NIGHT SWEEP: LINCOLN-WAY TEAMS DOMINATE MAINE AT HF ICE ARENA

It was a night full of celebration and triumph at HF Ice Arena as all three Lincoln-Way hockey teams swept their matches against Maine, winning by a combined score of 16-4 on Senior Night. The impressive performances showcased the talent and hard work of the senior players and the entire Lincoln-Way program.

**JV2 Shuts Out Maine JV2**

The action kicked off with Lincoln-Way's JV2 team taking the ice against Maine's JV2 squad. The Lincoln-Way team got off to a fast start with Matthew Hallman scoring early in the first period with assists from Ben Irwin and Emmet Brkovic. The momentum continued in the second period, where Nate Macri added to the score with a goal assisted by Matthew Plahm and Jacob Nelson.

Brandon Plahm capped off the second with a crucial goal — scoring just 35 seconds before the period ended, assisted by Maverick Enright. Mark Weiss closed out the scoring in the third with a goal, assisted by Ethan Anderson, ensuring a solid 4-0 victory. Goalie Chris Greene was a stalwart in the net, securing the shutout with a stellar performance.

**JV1 Dominates in Convincing Win**

In the second matchup of the evening, Lincoln-Way's JV1 team faced off against Maine's JV1 team. The team wasted no time asserting its dominance, scoring three goals in the first period. Danny Peterson opened the scoring with an assist from Owen Britt, before Jason Sciacca found the net less than five minutes later, with an assist from Anthony Skopick to deliver the game-winning goal. Carter Prochaska added an unassisted goal with just over two minutes left in the first.

The second period continued in Lincoln-Way's favor, as they outscored Maine 4-1. Grant Briscoe scored on an assist from Sciacca, followed by a goal from Hunter Lovet, assisted by Anthony Skopick and Danny Aleo. Briscoe then tallied his second of the night with an assist from Gavin Vasquez. Alex Macri rounded out the scoring with a goal, assisted by Danny Peterson. Even with a scoreless third period, Jacob Bandzi held strong in goal, stopping 13 of 14 shots.

**Varsity Takes Down 1st Place Maine**

In the nightcap, the Lincoln-Way Varsity team went toe-to-toe with the first-place Maine Varsity team in a thrilling contest that showcased the intensity of high school hockey. Maine struck first at 13:05, taking an early 1-0 lead. However, Lincoln-Way swiftly answered with an unassisted goal from Jimmy Maurer, tying the game at 1.

As the first period neared its conclusion, Maine managed to regain the lead, scoring with 42 seconds left, heading into the second with a 2-1 advantage. But Lincoln-Way wasn’t deterred; just two minutes into the second, Anthony Hull tied the game again, this time assisted by Maurer.

Luke Riechers then provided a highlight moment with a short-handed goal, assisted by Quinten Lange, pushing Lincoln-Way ahead 3-2. The lead was short-lived as Maine scored a power play goal just 22 seconds later, making it 3-3. With 2:40 left in the second, Lange scored the pivotal game-winning goal on a power play, unassisted, giving Lincoln-Way the edge at 4-3. Lange later added an unassisted insurance goal in the third period, cementing the victory.

Seniors Blake Lord and Ryan Sullivan split time in goal, combining to stop an impressive 38 shots, which helped secure the win for Lincoln-Way.
